Franz Lutomsky GmbH was founded in 1954 by mine diver Franz Lutomsky in Wilhelmshaven. In the post-war years the company focused on the retrieval of munitions found in the North Sea. In the sixties the company also took over the supply for tank ships, freighters and private yachts travelling the North Sea.

In the following years Franz Lutomsky GmbH evolved into a corporation operating nationwide. Its head office is now located in Warburg-Scherfede. Currently the company employs about 60 workers in the field of explosive ordnance clearance. The projects are lead by our EOD technicians (Truppführer) who own the certificate of competence (§20 German Sprengstoffgesetz).

Due to the high mobility and flexibility combined with the experience and expertise of our employees as well as the utilisation of modern technology, we ensure a cost-efficient contract fulfilment. Lutomsky covers the whole range of explosive ordnance clearance. We work reliable and flexible with state-of-the-art procedures to provide areas free of explosive ordnances – on land and at sea.

The government authorities, renowned companies and private contractors put their trust in our work. They assign us tasks like the detection of UXOs within cities, the drilling and geophysical measuring of boreholes as well as the clearance of explosive ordnances based on aerial photographs.

We deploy boats and divers to clear marine survey areas. For larger areas specific measuring boats and sensor systems are put to use, while smaller areas are covered by divers manually. Located UXOs are exposed, identified and defused. UXOs that are safe to handle are salvaged and handed out to the responsible authorities.
